Mathematics
The following Mathematical Practices are provided by the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and will be the cornerstone for instruction at every level:
Science
Science instruction at The School will follow the M-DCPS CBC and will therefore be centered on the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards to ensure rigor within the curriculum.
Social Studies
The goal of social studies instruction is to produce informed, responsible citizens who are capable of making informed decisions within our democratic society. Social Studies covers a broad range of knowledge and skills, best instructed through research-based integrated strategies that lead students to evaluate and synthesize information.
Health and Physical Education
Florida’s House Bill 967 recognizes physical education as “the development and maintenance of skills related to strength, agility, flexibility, movement, and stamina, including dance; the development of knowledge and skills regarding teamwork and fair play;
Art and Music
Visual and performing arts will be integrated into core curriculum subjects to enhance instruction and demonstration of subject area mastery. In addition, exploration of the arts will allow students to explore their heritage as well as the heritage of various other cultures.
